In Marketing We Trust brings on board passionate and experienced Digital Marketers that are dedicated to their work and focussed on solving problems for our clients.

We are dedicated to celebrating them both internally and by sharing their achievements, as they are the true embodiment of culture heroes within the company.

Each month we hope that through their short testimonials, you can also find value by gaining different perspectives on what it takes to be recognised by your peers and how you can manage to operate successfully within a distributed team while living up to the values of the company.

In June we are celebrating two of our amazing team members, both based in Brisbane, who have been voted by the team winners of our ‘Ethos’ award.

Celebrating Our Culture Heroes

James

James Ohlson - Celebrating Our Culture Heroes - June 2021James joined the IMWT team only 3 months ago, but his work and attitude have already had a strong impact on both our team and our clients.

He specialises in Paid Media and is truly passionate about the field, constantly eager to learn new things while also committed to helping any colleague in need.

What is your best advice for being ‘Independent Together’ in the workplace (to the point of being recognised for this superpower)?

My advice for living the value of ‘ Independently Together’ is to take responsibility for your personal work, and deliver at the highest quality that you can, but when the opportunity presents itself to help a teammate succeed in their work or pass an obstacle –  step in and (help) deliver for them too.

Any tips for keeping yourself focussed and delivering great results while working from home?

The beauty of working from home is that you have complete control over your setup and workspace, so crafting a productive workspace for you personally is completely within your power. The time spent preparing for the day, exercising, making breakfast etc. in place of long commute times is also a key benefit to WFH that keeps you productive.

Could you briefly describe your main tasks and responsibilities?

My main tasks are optimisation and growth of paid media channels (advertising on platforms such as Google or Facebook). This typically entails working towards a ‘big-picture’ strategy by constantly adjusting/optimising our targeted audience, keywords, ad copy, creative, platform strategy, machine learning bid strategies and budget efficiency – all in the name of delivering on the clients’ business goals, whether that’s more traffic or more revenue.

As part of the team, I have responsibilities internally to assist where possible and build new strategic frameworks and ways of working with the team.

How do you manage to juggle so many responsibilities and deadlines?

It can be difficult at times, especially being one of the newer members of IMWT, managing the workload all while adapting to new task management tools and ways of working can present a challenge. It’s important to get on-board and use these tools (they’re there for a reason), but not only to use them but to use them in a way that suits how you like to work and organise your workload, utilising the personalisation available to you within these tools is a vital element to adapting and making them work for you.

Selina

Selina Gough - Celebrating Our Culture Heroes - June 2021

Part of the Leadership team, Selina is IMWT’s Head of Growth extraordinaire.

Not only does she do fantastic work overlooking the SEO and Paid services, but she also embodies and instils IMWT’s core values to the fullest.

What is your best advice for getting stuff done in the workplace (to the point of being recognised for this superpower)?

My advice for getting things done in the workplace is to remember that you’re part of a team – having the ability to leverage those around me for their strengths, opinions and feedback allows me to come through with the goods that I have committed to – to our team and to our clients.

Any tips for keeping yourself focussed and delivering great results while working from home?

As many people will tell you, it’s all about your workspace. I have a dedicated working space in my home that I will purposely avoid using unless I’m on the clock – even on “lunch breaks”, I will consciously remove myself and move to a different part of my home. This allows me to separate “work” and “home” and stay focused on where I need to be.

Could you briefly describe your main tasks and responsibilities?

My main responsibility is IMWT’s SEO and Paid products/services. My key focus has been supporting our extremely talented team of specialists, aligning with our leadership team to ensure that our work has a direct impact on our clients as well as encouraging “shoeys” to be part of (unsuccessfully) IMWT’s culture.

How do you manage to juggle so many responsibilities and deadlines?

Being held accountable. Due to the dynamics of IMWT’s team, each team member is always held accountable to commitments to each other as well as to our clients. For me personally, it’s my commitments that I make to the fellow leadership team, and our Client Services team who follow up through our project management tools that ensure that deadlines are met.
